وَلَا تُعْجِبْكَ اَمْوَالُهُمْ وَاَوْلَادُهُمْۗ اِنَّمَا يُرِيْدُ اللّٰهُ اَنْ يُّعَذِّبَهُمْ بِهَا فِى الدُّنْيَا وَتَزْهَقَ اَنْفُسُهُمْ وَهُمْ كٰفِرُوْنَ ( التوبة: ٨٥ )
Wa laa tu'jibka amwaa luhum wa awlaaduhum; innamaa yureedul laahu ai yu'az zibahum bihaa fid dunyaa wa tazhaqa anfusuhum wa hum kaafiroon (at-Tawbah 9:85)
Abdul Hameed Baqavi:
அவர்களுடைய செல்வங்களும் அவர்களுடைய சந்ததிகளும் (அதிகரித்திருப்பது) உங்களை ஆச்சரியப்படுத்த வேண்டாம். (ஏனென்றால்) அவற்றைக்கொண்டு இவ்வுலகிலேயே அவர்களைத் துன்புறுத்துவதையும், அவர்கள் (கர்வம்கொண்டு) நிராகரித்த வண்ணமே அவர்களின் உயிர் போவதையும் அல்லாஹ் விரும்புகிறான்.
English Sahih:
And let not their wealth and their children impress you. Allah only intends to punish them through them in this world and that their souls should depart [at death] while they are disbelievers. ([9] At-Tawbah : 85)
