لَقَدْ اَخَذْنَا مِيْثَاقَ بَنِيْٓ اِسْرَاۤءِيْلَ وَاَرْسَلْنَآ اِلَيْهِمْ رُسُلًا ۗ كُلَّمَا جَاۤءَهُمْ رَسُوْلٌۢ بِمَا لَا تَهْوٰٓى اَنْفُسُهُمْۙ فَرِيْقًا كَذَّبُوْا وَفَرِيْقًا يَّقْتُلُوْنَ ( المائدة: ٧٠ )
Laqad akhaznaa meesaaqa Banee Israaa'eela wa arsalnaaa ilaihim Rusulan kullamaa jaaa'ahum Rasoolum bimaa laa tahwaaa anfusuhum fareeqan kazzaboo wa fareeqany yaqtuloon (al-Māʾidah 5:70)

நிச்சயமாக நாம் இஸ்ராயீலின் சந்ததிகளிடம் (நம்முடைய தூதர்களைப் பின்பற்றும்படி) உறுதிமொழி வாங்கி, அவர்களிடம் நம்முடைய பல தூதர்களை அனுப்பிவைத்தோம். (எனினும்) அவர்களுடைய மனம் விரும்பாத ஒன்றை (கட்டளையை நம்முடைய) தூதர் அவர்களிடம் கொண்டு வந்தபோதெல்லாம் (அத்தூதர்களில்) சிலரைப் பொய்யரெனக் கூறியும், சிலரைக் கொலை செய்து கொண்டுமே இருந்தார்கள்.
English Sahih:
We had already taken the covenant of the Children of Israel and had sent to them messengers. Whenever there came to them a messenger with what their souls did not desire, a party [of messengers] they denied, and another party they killed. ([5] Al-Ma'idah : 70)

நாம் இஸ்ராயீலின் சந்ததியினரிடம் உறுதிமொழி வாங்கினோம், அவர்களிடம் தூதர்களையும் அனுப்பி வைத்தோம்; எனினும் அவர்கள் மனம் விரும்பாதவற்றை (கட்டளைகளை நம்) தூதர் அவர்களிடம் கொண்டு வந்த போதெல்லாம், (தூதர்களில்) ஒரு பிரிவாரைப் பொய்ப்பித்தும்; இன்னும் ஒரு பிரிவாரைப் கொலை செய்தும் வந்தார்கள்.
