وَاِنْ مِّنْ اَهْلِ الْكِتٰبِ اِلَّا لَيُؤْمِنَنَّ بِهٖ قَبْلَ مَوْتِهٖ ۚوَيَوْمَ الْقِيٰمَةِ يَكُوْنُ عَلَيْهِمْ شَهِيْدًاۚ ( النساء: ١٥٩ )
And (there is) not
وَإِن
இல்லை (இருக்கமாட்டார்)
from (the) People (of) the Book
مِّنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ
வேதக்காரர்களில் எவரும்
but
إِلَّا
தவிர
surely he believes
لَيُؤْمِنَنَّ
நிச்சயமாக நம்பிக்கை கொள்வார்
in him
بِهِۦ
அவரை
before
قَبْلَ
முன்னர்
his death
مَوْتِهِۦۖ
அவர் இறப்பதற்கு
And (on the) Day (of) the Resurrection
وَيَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ
இன்னும் மறுமை நாளில்
he will be
يَكُونُ
இருப்பார்
against them
عَلَيْهِمْ
இவர்களுக்கு எதிராக
a witness
شَهِيدًا
சாட்சி கூறுபவராக
Wa im min Ahlil Kitaabi illaa layu'minanna bihee qabla mawtihee wa Yawmal Qiyaamati yakoonu 'alaihim shaheedaa (an-Nisāʾ 4:159)
Abdul Hameed Baqavi:
வேதத்தையுடையவர்களில் ஒவ்வொருவரும் அவர் இறப்பதற்கு முன்னதாக அவரை நம்பிக்கை கொள்ளாமல் இருப்பதில்லை. எனினும், மறுமை நாளில் இவர்களுக்கு எதிராகவே அவர் சாட்சியம் கூறுவார்.
English Sahih:
And there is none from the People of the Scripture but that he will surely believe in him [i.e., Jesus] before his death. And on the Day of Resurrection he will be against them a witness. ([4] An-Nisa : 159)
