وَجَعَلْنَا الَّيْلَ وَالنَّهَارَ اٰيَتَيْنِ فَمَحَوْنَآ اٰيَةَ الَّيْلِ وَجَعَلْنَآ اٰيَةَ النَّهَارِ مُبْصِرَةً لِّتَبْتَغُوْا فَضْلًا مِّنْ رَّبِّكُمْ وَلِتَعْلَمُوْا عَدَدَ السِّنِيْنَ وَالْحِسَابَۗ وَكُلَّ شَيْءٍ فَصَّلْنٰهُ تَفْصِيْلًا ( الإسراء: ١٢ )
Wa ja'alnal laila wannahaara Aayatayni famahawnaaa Aayatal laili wa ja'alnaaa Aayatan nahaari mubsiratal litabtaghoo fadlam mir Rabbikum wa lita'lamoo 'adadas sineena walhisaab; wa kulla shai'in fassalnaahu tafseelaa (al-ʾIsrāʾ 17:12)

இரவையும் பகலையும் நாம் இரு அத்தாட்சிகளாக்கினோம். (அதில்) இரவின் அத்தாட்சியை மங்கச் செய்தோம். (பல இடங்களிலும் சுற்றித் திரிந்து) உங்கள் இறைவனின் அருளை நீங்கள் தேடிக்கொள்வதற்காக பகலின் அத்தாட்சியைப் பிரகாசமாக்கினோம். ஆண்டுகளின் எண்ணிக்கையை(யும் மாதங்களின் கணக்கையும் இதன் மூலம்) நீங்கள் அறிந்து கொள்கின்றீர்கள். ஒவ்வொரு விஷயத்தையும் தெளிவாகவே நாம் விவரித்துள்ளோம்.
English Sahih:
And We have made the night and day two signs, and We erased the sign of the night and made the sign of the day visible that you may seek bounty from your Lord and may know the number of years and the account [of time]. And everything We have set out in detail. ([17] Al-Isra : 12)

இரவையும், பகலையும் நாம் இரண்டு அத்தாட்சிகளாக ஆக்கினோம்; பின்னர் இரவின் அத்தாட்சி மங்கி (இருளாகி)டச் செய்தோம்; உங்கள் இறைவனுடைய அருட்கொடையை நீங்கள் தேடிக்கொள்வதற்காகவும் - ஆண்டுகளின் எண்ணிக்கைகளையும் கணக்குகளையும் நீங்கள் அறிந்து கொள்வதற்காகவும், பகலின் அத்தாட்சியைப் பிரகாசமாக்கினோம் - மேலும் நாம் ஒவ்வொரு பொருளையும் தெளிவாக விவரித்திருக்கிறோம்.
