وَالسَّارِقُ وَالسَّارِقَةُ فَاقْطَعُوْٓا اَيْدِيَهُمَا جَزَاۤءًۢ بِمَا كَسَبَا نَكَالًا مِّنَ اللّٰهِ ۗوَاللّٰهُ عَزِيْزٌ حَكِيْمٌ ( المائدة: ٣٨ )
And (for) the male thief
وَٱلسَّارِقُ
और चोर मर्द
and the female thief -
وَٱلسَّارِقَةُ
और चोर औरत
[then] cut off
فَٱقْطَعُوٓا۟
पस काट दो
their hands
أَيْدِيَهُمَا
हाथ उन दोनों के
(as) a recompense
جَزَآءًۢ
बदला है
for what
بِمَا
बवजह उसके जो
they earned
كَسَبَا
उन दोनों ने कमाया
(as) an exemplary (punishment)
نَكَٰلًا
इबरतनाक सज़ा है
from
مِّنَ
अल्लाह की तरफ़ से
Allah
ٱللَّهِۗ
अल्लाह की तरफ़ से
And Allah
وَٱللَّهُ
और अल्लाह
(is) All-Mighty
عَزِيزٌ
बहुत ज़बरदस्त है
All-Wise
حَكِيمٌ
ख़ूब हिकमत वाला है
Waalssariqu waalssariqatu faiqta'oo aydiyahuma jazaan bima kasaba nakalan mina Allahi waAllahu 'azeezun hakeemun (al-Māʾidah 5:38)

और चोर चाहे स्त्री हो या पुरुष दोनों के हाथ काट दो। यह उनकी कमाई का बदला है और अल्लाह की ओर से शिक्षाप्रद दंड। अल्लाह प्रभुत्वशाली, तत्वदर्शी है
English Sahih:
[As for] the thief, the male and the female, amputate their hands in recompense for what they earned [i.e., committed] as a deterrent [punishment] from Allah. And Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise. ([5] Al-Ma'idah : 38)
