۞ اَتَأْمُرُوْنَ النَّاسَ بِالْبِرِّ وَتَنْسَوْنَ اَنْفُسَكُمْ وَاَنْتُمْ تَتْلُوْنَ الْكِتٰبَ ۗ اَفَلَا تَعْقِلُوْنَ ( البقرة: ٤٤ )
Do you order
أَتَأْمُرُونَ
क्या तुम हुक्म देते हो
[the] people
ٱلنَّاسَ
लोगों को
[the] righteousness
بِٱلْبِرِّ
नेकी का
and you forget
وَتَنسَوْنَ
और तुम भूल जाते हो
yourselves
أَنفُسَكُمْ
अपने नफ़्सों को
while you
وَأَنتُمْ
हालाँकि तुम
[you] recite
تَتْلُونَ
तुम तिलावत करते हो
the Book?
ٱلْكِتَٰبَۚ
किताब की
Then will not
أَفَلَا
क्या फिर नहीं
you use reason?
تَعْقِلُونَ
तुम अक़्ल से काम लेते
Atamuroona alnnasa bialbirri watansawna anfusakum waantum tatloona alkitaba afala ta'qiloona (al-Baq̈arah 2:44)

क्या तुम लोगों को तो नेकी और एहसान का उपदेश देते हो और अपने आपको भूल जाते हो, हालाँकि तुम किताब भी पढ़ते हो? फिर क्या तुम बुद्धि से काम नहीं लेते?
English Sahih:
Do you order righteousness of the people and forget yourselves while you recite the Scripture? Then will you not reason? ([2] Al-Baqarah : 44)
