قَالُوْٓا اَجِئْتَنَا لِتَلْفِتَنَا عَمَّا وَجَدْنَا عَلَيْهِ اٰبَاۤءَنَا وَتَكُوْنَ لَكُمَا الْكِبْرِيَاۤءُ فِى الْاَرْضِۗ وَمَا نَحْنُ لَكُمَا بِمُؤْمِنِيْنَ ( يونس: ٧٨ )
They said
قَالُوٓا۟
उन्होंने कहा
"Have you come to us
أَجِئْتَنَا
क्या आया है तू हमारे पास
to turn us away
لِتَلْفِتَنَا
ताकि तू फेर दे हमें
from that
عَمَّا
उससे जो
we found
وَجَدْنَا
पाया हमने
on it
عَلَيْهِ
उस पर
our forefathers
ءَابَآءَنَا
अपने आबा ओ अजदाद को
and you two (may) have
وَتَكُونَ
और हो जाए
and you two (may) have
لَكُمَا
तुम दोनों के लिए
the greatness
ٱلْكِبْرِيَآءُ
बड़ाई
in
فِى
जमीन में
the land?
ٱلْأَرْضِ
जमीन में
And we (are) not
وَمَا
और नहीं
And we (are) not
نَحْنُ
हम
(in) you two
لَكُمَا
तुम दोनों को
believers"
بِمُؤْمِنِينَ
मानने वाले
Qaloo ajitana litalfitana 'amma wajadna 'alayhi abaana watakoona lakuma alkibriyao fee alardi wama nahnu lakuma bimumineena (al-Yūnus 10:78)
Muhammad Faruq Khan Sultanpuri & Muhammad Ahmed:
उन्होंने कहा, 'क्या तू हमारे पास इसलिए आया है कि हमें उस चीज़ से फेर दे जिसपर हमने अपना बाप-दादा का पाया है और धरती में तुम दोनों की बड़ाई स्थापित हो जाए? हम तो तुम्हें माननेवाले नहीं।'
English Sahih:
They said, "Have you come to us to turn us away from that upon which we found our fathers and so that you two may have grandeur in the land? And we are not believers in you." ([10] Yunus : 78)
