Al-'Alaq Verse 19

Again, no! Never obey him ˹O Prophet˺! Rather, ˹continue to˺ prostrate and draw near ˹to Allah˺.

No indeed; do not obey him, but prostrate and draw near [to Allah].

No indeed; do thou not obey him, and bow thyself, and draw nigh.

No! Do not obey him [Prophet]: bow down in worship and draw close.

By no means! Obey not thou him. Continue to adore, and continue to draw nigh.

Nay, heed him not; But bow down in adoration, and bring thyself the closer (to Allah)!

No, not at all. Never obey him. But prostrate yourself and become nigh (to your Lord).

Beware! Do not obey him, but bow in adoration and draw near (to your Lord).

Yes indeed; do not listen to him – and prostrate, and become close to Us. (Command of Prostration # 14)

No indeed! Do not obey him, but prostrate and draw near [to Allah]!

By no means! Pay no heed to him (in his attempt to prevent the Prayer), but prostrate and draw near (to God).

Nay, (he will never succeed in his evil designs.) Yield not to him, rather continue to prostrate yourself (before your Lord) and draw near (to Him). [Prostration]

No but do not obey him, and prostrate and near/approach (to Me).

Yes indeed; do not listen to him - and prostrate, and become close to Us. (Command of Prostration # 14)

Nay, obey him not, but adore and draw nigh (unto Allah)!

Nay! (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him))! Do not obey him (Abu Jahl). Fall prostrate and draw near to Allah!

Surely We revealed it on the Night of Majesty --

Nay! obey him not, and make obeisance and draw nigh (to Allah).

Nay, Obey not thou him. But prostrate thyself, and draw near (unto Allah).

(Muhammad), never yield to him! Prostrate yourself and try to come closer to God.

No, indeed; do not obey him! Prostrate and come nearer (to Allah).

Nay! Do not obey him. Fall prostrate and draw near (to Allah)!

No indeed! Do not obey him, but prostrate yourself and come closer to God.

No, do not obey him; but kneel down, and come near.

No indeed! -- a repudiation of him -- Do not obey him, O Muhammad (s) and abandon prayer, and prostrate yourself, perform prayer to God, and draw near, to Him through obedience to Him. Meccan or Medinese, consisting of 5 or 6 verses.

كَلَّ لَا تُطِعْهُ


Nay! Do not obey him.

meaning, `O Muhammad! Do not obey him in what he is forbidding from such as steadfastness in worship and performing worship in abundance. Pray wherever you wish and do not worry about him. For indeed Allah will protect you and help you, and He will defend you against the people.'

وَاسْجُدْ وَاقْتَرِبْ




Fall prostrate and draw near (to Allah)!)

This is just like what has been confirmed in the Sahih of Muslim on the authority of Abu Salih who reported from Abu Hurayrah that the Messenger of Allah said,

أَقْرَبُ مَا يَكُونُ الْعَبْدُ مِنْ رَبِّهِ وَهُوَ سَاجِدٌ فَأَكْثِرُوا الدُّعَاء

"The closest that a servant can be to his Lord is when he is in prostration. Therefore, make abundant supplications (i.e., while prostrating)."

It has also been mentioned previously that the Messenger of Allah used to prostrate when he recited

إِذَا السَّمَأءُ انشَقَّتْ

When the heaven is split asunder. (84;1)

and,

اقْرَأْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الَّذِى خَلَقَ

Read! In the Name of your Lord Who has created. (96;1)

This is the end of the Tafsir of Surah Al-`Alaq. Unto Allah is due all praise and thanks, and He is the Giver of success and protection against error
