Al-A'raf Verse 90

The disbelieving chiefs of his people threatened, “If you follow Shu’aib, you will surely be losers!”

The disbelieving chiefs of his people said, “If you follow Shu‘ayb, you will certainly be losers.”

Said the Council of those of his people who disbelieved, 'Now, if you follow Shuaib, assuredly in that case you will be losers.'

The disbelieving leaders among his people said, ‘You will certainly be losers if you follow Shuayb’-

And the chiefs of those who disbelieved amongst his people said: should ye follow Shu'aib, lo! verily ye will be the losers.

The leaders, the unbelievers among his people, said; "If ye follow Shu'aib, be sure then ye are ruined!"

The elders of his people who disbelieved said: 'Should you follow Shu'ayb, you will be utter losers.

The chiefs among his people who did not believe said (to them): "If you follow Shu'aib and his way you will surely be ruined."

And the disbelieving leaders of his people said, “If you obey Shuaib, you will indeed be in a loss.”

The elite of his people who were faithless said, ‘If you follow Shu'ayb, you will indeed be losers.’

The leading ones who persisted in unbelief said (so as to put pressure upon the others among his people): "Should you follow Shu‘ayb, you will then surely be the losers!"

The chiefs who had disbelieved from among his people then said, `If you follow Shu`aib you shall then, truly be the losers.´

And the nobles/assembly, those who disbelieved from his nation said: "If (E) you followed Shu`aib, that you are then losers (E) ."

And the disbelieving leaders of his people said, "If you obey Shuaib, you will indeed be in a loss."

But the chiefs of those who disbelieved amongst his people said, "If you follow Shu´eyb, verily, you shall be the losers;"

The chiefs of those who disbelieved among his people said (to their people): "If you follow Shu'aib, be sure then you will be the losers!"

Indeed we should have forged a lie against Allah, if we go back to your religion after Allah has delivered us from it. And it is not for us to go back to it, unless Allah our Lord please. Our Lord comprehends all things in His knowledge. In Allah do we trust. Our Lord, decide between us and our people with truth, and Thou art the Best of Deciders.

And the chiefs of those who disbelieved from among his people said: If you follow Shu'aib, you shall then most surely be losers

But the chieftains of his people, who were disbelieving, said: If ye follow Shu'eyb, then truly ye shall be the losers.

A group of the unbelievers among his people told the others, "If you follow Shu'ayb, you will certainly lose a great deal."

But the unbelieving assembly of his nation said: 'If you follow Shu'aib, you shall assuredly be losers.'

The chiefs of those who disbelieved among his people said (to their people): "If you follow Shu`ayb, be sure then you will be the losers!"

The leading men of his people who were bent on denying the truth, said, "If you follow Shu'ayb, you will certainly be the losers."

The elite of his people who disbelieved said, “If you follow Shuaib, you will be losers.”

Said the council of those of his people who disbelieved, that is, some said to others; `Verily if (la-in; the lm is for oaths) you follow Shu`ayb, you shall indeed be losers'.

Allah tells,

وَقَالَ الْمَلُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ مِن قَوْمِهِ



The chiefs of those who disbelieved among his people said (to their people);

Allah describes the enormity of disbelief, rebellion, transgression and misguidance (of Shu`ayb's people) and the defiance of truth encrypted in their hearts. They vowed, saying,

لَيِنِ اتَّبَعْتُمْ شُعَيْباً إِنَّكُمْ إِذاً لَّخَاسِرُونَ



"If you follow Shu`ayb, be sure then you will be the losers!"

Allah answered them,

فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ الرَّجْفَةُ فَأَصْبَحُواْ فِي دَارِهِمْ جَاثِمِينَ
