Al-Haqqah Verse 42

Nor is it the mumbling of a fortune-teller, ˹yet˺ you are hardly mindful.

Nor is it the word of a soothsayer; little do you take heed!

nor the speech of a soothsayer (little do you remember).

nor the words of a soothsayer- how little you reflect!

Nor is it the speech of a sooth- sayer. Little are ye admonished.

Nor is it the word of a soothsayer; little admonition it is ye receive.

Nor is this the speech of a soothsayer. Little do you reflect!

Nor is it the word of a soothsayer. Little is it that you reflect!

Nor is it the speech of a soothsayer; how little do you ponder!

Nor is it the speech of a soothsayer. Little is the admonition that you take!

Nor is it a soothsayer’s speech (pretending to foretell events). How little it is that you reflect and be mindful! (It is so limited by the poverty of your minds.)

Neither it is the word of a soothsayer. Little is the heed you give!

And nor with a fortune teller`s/altar priests word/saying , little (is) what you mention/remember .

Nor is it the speech of a soothsayer; how little do you ponder!

Nor the word of a soothsayer; little is it that you mind.

Nor is it the word of a soothsayer (or a foreteller), little is that you remember!

And if he had fabricated against Us certain sayings,

Nor the word of a soothsayer; little is it that you mind.

Nor diviner's speech - little is it that ye remember!

nor is it the work of a soothsayer but only a few of you take heed.

nor is it the speech of a soothsayer little do you remember.

Nor is it the word of a soothsayer, little is that you remember!

Nor is it the word of a soothsayer -- how little you reflect!

Nor is it the speech of a soothsayer—little do you take heed.

Nor [is it] the speech of a soothsayer. Little do you remember! (read both verbs either in the second person plural or in the third person plural; the m [preceding both verbs] is extra, intended for emphasis). The meaning is; they believed and remembered only very few things of what the Prophet (s) did, [things] such as [his] good acts, [his] kindness to kin and abstinence; yet this will be of no avail to them.

It is not the word of a poet, little is that you believe!

Nor is it the word of soothsayer, little is that you remember!

So in one instance Allah applies the term messenger to the angelic Messenger and in another instance He applies it to the human Messenger (Muhammad). This is because both of them are conveying from Allah that which has been entrusted to them of Allah's revelation and Speech.

Thus, Allah says,

تَنزِيلٌ مِّن رَّبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ
