Adh-Dhariyat Verse 8

Surely you are ˹lost˺ in conflicting views ˹regarding the truth˺.[[ See footnote for {50:5}.]]

Indeed, you [Makkans] have conflicting views [about the truth].

surely you speak at variance,

you differ in what you say––

Verily ye are in a divided opinion.

Truly ye are in a doctrine discordant,

surely you are at variance (about the Hereafter);

You are surely caught in contradictions.,

You are indeed in different opinions regarding this Qur’an.

indeed you are of different opinions!

Surely you are in contradicting views (about the Qur’an and how to describe it).

That contradictory are the things you say (for your not believing in God´s word and in His Prophet),

That you truly are in (E) (a) different word/statement .

You are indeed in different opinions regarding this Qur’an.

Most surely you are in doctrines (opinions, teachings, ideologies) discordant (or inconsistent or contradictory),

Certainly, you have different ideas (about Muhammad SAW and the Quran).

By the heaven full of paths!

Most surely you are at variance with each other in what you say,

Lo! ye, forsooth, are of various opinion (concerning the truth).

your ideas are confused.

surely, you are in different sayings,

Certainly, you have different ideas.

surely you are deeply at variance [as to what to believe] --

You differ in what you say.

indeed you, O people of Mecca, with regard to the matter of the Prophet (s) and the Qur'n, are of differing opinions; some say [of the Prophet that he is] `a poet', `a sorcerer', or `a soothsayer', and [of the Qur'n, that it is] `poetry', `sorcery', or `soothsaying'.

Certainly, you have different ideas.

Allah says, `you disbelievers who deny the Messengers have different and confused opinions that do not connect or conform to each other.'

Qatadah commented on the Ayah,

"You have different ideas about the Qur'an. Some of you agree that it is true while some others deny this fact."

Allah said,

يُوْفَكُ عَنْهُ مَنْ أُفِكَ
