يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
O you
ٱلَّذِينَ
who
ءَامَنُوا۟
believe!
ٱذْكُرُوا۟
Remember
نِعْمَتَ
(the) Favor
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
عَلَيْكُمْ
upon you
إِذْ
when
هَمَّ
(were) determined
قَوْمٌ
a people
أَن
[to]
يَبْسُطُوٓا۟
stretch
إِلَيْكُمْ
towards you
أَيْدِيَهُمْ
their hands
فَكَفَّ
but He restrained
أَيْدِيَهُمْ
their hands
عَنكُمْۖ
from you
وَٱتَّقُوا۟
And fear
ٱللَّهَۚ
Allah
وَعَلَى
And upon
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ
so let put the trust
ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ
the believers

Yaa aiyuhal lazeena aamanuz kuroo ni'matallaahi 'alaikum iz hamma qawmun ai yabsutooo ilaikum aidiyahm fakaffa aidiyahum 'ankum wattaqullaah; wa'alal laahi fal yatawakalil mu'minoon

O you who have believed, remember the favor of Allah upon you when a people determined to extend their hands [in aggression] against you, but He withheld their hands from you; and fear Allah. And upon Allah let the believers rely.

Tafsir

وَلَقَدْ
And certainly
أَخَذَ
took
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
مِيثَٰقَ
a Covenant
بَنِىٓ
(from the) Children
إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
(of) Israel
وَبَعَثْنَا
and We appointed
مِنْهُمُ
among them
ٱثْنَىْ
two
عَشَرَ
(and) ten
نَقِيبًاۖ
leaders
وَقَالَ
And said
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
إِنِّى
"Indeed, I (am)
مَعَكُمْۖ
with you
لَئِنْ
if
أَقَمْتُمُ
you establish
ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ
the prayer
وَءَاتَيْتُمُ
and give
ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ
the zakah
وَءَامَنتُم
and you believe
بِرُسُلِى
in My Messengers
وَعَزَّرْتُمُوهُمْ
and you assist them
وَأَقْرَضْتُمُ
and you loan
ٱللَّهَ
(to) Allah
قَرْضًا
a loan
حَسَنًا
goodly
لَّأُكَفِّرَنَّ
surely I will remove
عَنكُمْ
from you
سَيِّـَٔاتِكُمْ
your evil deeds
وَلَأُدْخِلَنَّكُمْ
and I will surely admit you
جَنَّٰتٍ
(to) gardens
تَجْرِى
flow
مِن
from
تَحْتِهَا
underneath them
ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُۚ
the rivers
فَمَن
But whoever
كَفَرَ
disbelieved
بَعْدَ
after
ذَٰلِكَ
that
مِنكُمْ
among you
فَقَدْ
then certainly
ضَلَّ
he strayed
سَوَآءَ
(from the) right
ٱلسَّبِيلِ
way

Wa laqad akhazal laahu meesaaqa Banee Israaa'eela wa ba'sanaa minhumus ani 'ashara naqeebanw wa qaalal laahu innee ma'akum la'in aqamtumus Salaata wa aataitumuz Zakaata wa aamantum bi Rusulee wa'azzartumoohum wa aqradtumul laaha qardan hasanal la ukaffiranna 'ankum saiyiaatikum wa la udkhilan nakum Jannaatin tajree min tahtihal anhaar; faman kafara ba'da zaalika minkum faqad dalla sawaaa'as Sabeel

And Allah had already taken a covenant from the Children of Israel, and We delegated from among them twelve leaders. And Allah said, "I am with you. If you establish prayer and give Zakah and believe in My messengers and support them and loan Allah a goodly loan, I will surely remove from you your misdeeds and admit you to gardens beneath which rivers flow. But whoever of you disbelieves after that has certainly strayed from the soundness of the way."

Tafsir

فَبِمَا
So for
نَقْضِهِم
their breaking
مِّيثَٰقَهُمْ
(of) their covenant
لَعَنَّٰهُمْ
We cursed them
وَجَعَلْنَا
and We made
قُلُوبَهُمْ
their hearts
قَٰسِيَةًۖ
hard
يُحَرِّفُونَ
They distort
ٱلْكَلِمَ
the words
عَن
from
مَّوَاضِعِهِۦۙ
their places
وَنَسُوا۟
and forgot
حَظًّا
a part
مِّمَّا
of what
ذُكِّرُوا۟
they were reminded
بِهِۦۚ
of [it]
وَلَا
And not
تَزَالُ
will you cease
تَطَّلِعُ
to discover
عَلَىٰ
of
خَآئِنَةٍ
treachery
مِّنْهُمْ
from them
إِلَّا
except
قَلِيلًا
a few
مِّنْهُمْۖ
of them
فَٱعْفُ
But forgive
عَنْهُمْ
them
وَٱصْفَحْۚ
and overlook
إِنَّ
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
يُحِبُّ
loves
ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ
the good-doers

Fabimaa naqdihim meesaa qahum la'annaahum wa ja'alnaa quloobahum qaasiyatany yuharrifoonal kalima 'ammawaadi'ihee wa nasoo hazzam mimmaa zukkiroo bih; khaaa'inatim minhum illaa qaleelam minhum fa'fu 'anhum wasfah; innal laaha yuhibbul muhsineen

So for their breaking of the covenant We cursed them and made their hearts hardened. They distort words from their [proper] places [i.e., usages] and have forgotten a portion of that of which they were reminded. And you will still observe deceit among them, except a few of them. But pardon them and overlook [their misdeeds]. Indeed, Allah loves the doers of good.

Tafsir

وَمِنَ
And from
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
قَالُوٓا۟
said
إِنَّا
Indeed we
نَصَٰرَىٰٓ
(are) Christians"
أَخَذْنَا
We took
مِيثَٰقَهُمْ
their covenant
فَنَسُوا۟
but they forgot
حَظًّا
a part
مِّمَّا
of what
ذُكِّرُوا۟
they were reminded
بِهِۦ
of [it]
فَأَغْرَيْنَا
So We aroused
بَيْنَهُمُ
between them
ٱلْعَدَاوَةَ
[the] enmity
وَٱلْبَغْضَآءَ
and [the] hatred
إِلَىٰ
till
يَوْمِ
(the) Day
ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِۚ
(of) the Resurrection
وَسَوْفَ
And soon
يُنَبِّئُهُمُ
will inform them
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
بِمَا
of what
كَانُوا۟
they used to
يَصْنَعُونَ
do

Wa minal lazeena qaalooo innaa nasaaraaa akhaznaa meesaaqahum fanasoo hazzam mimmaa zukkiroo bihee fa aghrainaa binahumul 'adaawata walbaghdaaa'a ilaa yawmil Qiyaamah; wa sawfa yunabbi'uhumul laahu bimaa kaanoo yasna'oon

And from those who say, "We are Christians" We took their covenant; but they forgot a portion of that of which they were reminded. So We caused among them animosity and hatred until the Day of Resurrection. And Allah is going to inform them about what they used to do.

Tafsir

يَٰٓأَهْلَ
O People
ٱلْكِتَٰبِ
(of) the Book!
قَدْ
Surely
جَآءَكُمْ
has come to you
رَسُولُنَا
Our Messenger
يُبَيِّنُ
making clear
لَكُمْ
to you
كَثِيرًا
much
مِّمَّا
of what
كُنتُمْ
you used to
تُخْفُونَ
conceal
مِنَ
of
ٱلْكِتَٰبِ
the Scripture
وَيَعْفُوا۟
and overlooking
عَن
of
كَثِيرٍۚ
much
قَدْ
Surely
جَآءَكُم
has come to you
مِّنَ
from
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
نُورٌ
a light
وَكِتَٰبٌ
and a Book
مُّبِينٌ
clear

yaaa Ahlal kitaabi qad jaaa'akum Rasoolunaa yubaiyinu lakum kaseeram mimmmaa kuntum tukhfoona minal Kitaabi wa ya'foo 'an kaseer; qad jaaa'akum minal laahi noorunw wa Kitaabum Mubeen

O People of the Scripture, there has come to you Our Messenger making clear to you much of what you used to conceal of the Scripture and overlooking much. There has come to you from Allah a light and a clear Book [i.e., the Quran]

Tafsir

يَهْدِى
Guides
بِهِ
with it
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
مَنِ
(those) who
ٱتَّبَعَ
seek
رِضْوَٰنَهُۥ
His pleasure
سُبُلَ
(to the) ways
ٱلسَّلَٰمِ
(of) the peace
وَيُخْرِجُهُم
and brings them out
مِّنَ
from
ٱلظُّلُمَٰتِ
the darknessess
إِلَى
to
ٱلنُّورِ
the light
بِإِذْنِهِۦ
by His permission
وَيَهْدِيهِمْ
and guides them
إِلَىٰ
to
صِرَٰطٍ
(the) way
مُّسْتَقِيمٍ
(the) straight

Yahdee bihil laahu manit taba'a ridwaanahoo subulas salaami wa yukhrijuhum minaz zulumaati ilan noori bi iznihee wa yahdeehim ilaa Siraatim Mustaqeem

By which Allah guides those who pursue His pleasure to the ways of peace and brings them out from darknesses into the light, by His permission, and guides them to a straight path.

Tafsir

لَّقَدْ
Certainly
كَفَرَ
disbelieved -
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
قَالُوٓا۟
said
إِنَّ
"Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
هُوَ
He
ٱلْمَسِيحُ
(is) the Messiah
ٱبْنُ
son
مَرْيَمَۚ
(of) Maryam"
قُلْ
Say
فَمَن
"Then who
يَمْلِكُ
has power
مِنَ
against
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
شَيْـًٔا
(in) anything
إِنْ
if
أَرَادَ
He intends
أَن
to
يُهْلِكَ
destroy
ٱلْمَسِيحَ
the Messiah
ٱبْنَ
son
مَرْيَمَ
(of) Maryam
وَأُمَّهُۥ
and his mother
وَمَن
and whoever
فِى
(is) in
ٱلْأَرْضِ
the earth
جَمِيعًاۗ
all?"
وَلِلَّهِ
And for Allah
مُلْكُ
(is the) dominion
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
(of) the heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضِ
and the earth
وَمَا
and what
بَيْنَهُمَاۚ
(is) between both of them
يَخْلُقُ
He creates
مَا
what
يَشَآءُۚ
He wills
وَٱللَّهُ
and Allah
عَلَىٰ
(is) on
كُلِّ
every
شَىْءٍ
thing
قَدِيرٌ
All-Powerful

Laqad kafaral lazeena qaalooo innal laaha huwal maseehub nu Maryam; qul famany-yamliku minal laahi shai'an in araada ai yuhlikal Maseehab na Maryama wa ummahoo wa man fil ardi jamee'aa, wa lillaahi mmulkus samaawaati wal ardi wa maa bainahumaa; yakhluqu maa Yashaaa'; wakhluqu maa yashaaa'; wallaahu 'alaa kulli shai'in Qadeer

They have certainly disbelieved who say that Allah is Christ, the son of Mary. Say, "Then who could prevent Allah at all if He had intended to destroy Christ, the son of Mary, or his mother or everyone on the earth?" And to Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them. He creates what He wills, and Allah is over all things competent.

Tafsir

وَقَالَتِ
And said
ٱلْيَهُودُ
the Jews
وَٱلنَّصَٰرَىٰ
and the Christians
نَحْنُ
"We (are)
أَبْنَٰٓؤُا۟
(the) children
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
وَأَحِبَّٰٓؤُهُۥۚ
and His beloved"
قُلْ
Say
فَلِمَ
"Then why
يُعَذِّبُكُم
(does He) punish you
بِذُنُوبِكُمۖ
for your sins?"
بَلْ
Nay
أَنتُم
you (are)
بَشَرٌ
human beings
مِّمَّنْ
from among (those)
خَلَقَۚ
He created
يَغْفِرُ
He forgives
لِمَن
[for] whom
يَشَآءُ
He wills
وَيُعَذِّبُ
and punishes
مَن
whom
يَشَآءُۚ
He wills
وَلِلَّهِ
And for Allah
مُلْكُ
(is the) dominion
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
(of) the heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضِ
and the earth
وَمَا
and whatever
بَيْنَهُمَاۖ
(is) between them
وَإِلَيْهِ
and to Him
ٱلْمَصِيرُ
(is) the final return

Wa qaalatil Yahoodu wan Nasaaraa nahnu abnaaa'ul laahi wa ahibbaaa'uh; qul falima yu'azzibukum bizunoobikum bal antum basharum mimmman khalaq; yaghfiru limai yashaaa'u wa yu'azzibu mai yashaaa'; wa lillaahi mulkus samaawaati wal ardi wa maa bainahumaa wa ilaihil maseer

But the Jews and the Christians say, "We are the children of Allah and His beloved." Say, "Then why does He punish you for your sins?" Rather, you are human beings from among those He has created. He forgives whom He wills, and He punishes whom He wills. And to Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them, and to Him is the [final] destination.

Tafsir

يَٰٓأَهْلَ
O People
ٱلْكِتَٰبِ
(of) the Book!
قَدْ
Surely
جَآءَكُمْ
has come to you
رَسُولُنَا
Our Messenger
يُبَيِّنُ
he makes clear
لَكُمْ
to you
عَلَىٰ
[on]
فَتْرَةٍ
(after) an interval (of cessation)
مِّنَ
of
ٱلرُّسُلِ
the Messengers
أَن
lest
تَقُولُوا۟
you say
مَا
"Not
جَآءَنَا
(has) come to us
مِنۢ
any
بَشِيرٍ
bearer of glad tidings
وَلَا
and not
نَذِيرٍۖ
a warner"
فَقَدْ
But surely
جَآءَكُم
has come to you
بَشِيرٌ
a bearer of glad tidings
وَنَذِيرٌۗ
and a warner
وَٱللَّهُ
And Allah
عَلَىٰ
(is) on
كُلِّ
every
شَىْءٍ
thing
قَدِيرٌ
All-Powerful

Yaaa Ahlal Kitaabi qad jaaa'akum Rasoolunaa yubaiyinu lakum 'alaa fatratim minal Rusuli an taqooloo maa jaaa'anaa mim basheerinw wa laa nazeerin faqad jaaa'akum basheerunw wa nazeer; wallaahu 'alaa kulli shai'in Qadeer

O People of the Scripture, there has come to you Our Messenger to make clear to you [the religion] after a period [of suspension] of messengers, lest you say, "There came not to us any bringer of good tidings or a warner." But there has come to you a bringer of good tidings and a warner. And Allah is over all things competent.

Tafsir

وَإِذْ
And when
قَالَ
said
مُوسَىٰ
Musa
لِقَوْمِهِۦ
to his people
يَٰقَوْمِ
"O my people
ٱذْكُرُوا۟
remember
نِعْمَةَ
(the) Favor
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
عَلَيْكُمْ
upon you
إِذْ
when
جَعَلَ
He placed
فِيكُمْ
among you
أَنۢبِيَآءَ
Prophets
وَجَعَلَكُم
and made you
مُّلُوكًا
kings
وَءَاتَىٰكُم
and He gave you
مَّا
what
لَمْ
not
يُؤْتِ
He (had) given
أَحَدًا
(to) anyone
مِّنَ
from
ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
the worlds

Qa iz qaala Moosaa liqawmihee yaa qawmiz kuroo ni'matal laahi 'alaikum iz ja'ala feekum mulookanw wa aataakum maa lam yu'ti ahadam minal 'aalameen

And [mention, O Muhammad], when Moses said to his people, "O my people, remember the favor of Allah upon you when He appointed among you prophets and made you possessors and gave you that which He had not given anyone among the worlds.

Tafsir
