وَاِذَا تُتْلٰى عَلَيْهِمْ اٰيٰتُنَا بَيِّنٰتٍ مَّا كَانَ حُجَّتَهُمْ اِلَّآ اَنْ قَالُوا ائْتُوْا بِاٰبَاۤىِٕنَآ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ صٰدِقِيْنَ  ( الجاثية: ٢٥ )

wa-idhā
وَإِذَا
And when
tut'lā
تُتْلَىٰ
are recited
ʿalayhim
عَلَيْهِمْ
to them
āyātunā
ءَايَٰتُنَا
Our Verses
bayyinātin
بَيِّنَٰتٍ
clear
مَّا
not
kāna
كَانَ
is
ḥujjatahum
حُجَّتَهُمْ
their argument
illā
إِلَّآ
except
an
أَن
that
qālū
قَالُوا۟
they say
i'tū
ٱئْتُوا۟
"Bring
biābāinā
بِـَٔابَآئِنَآ
our forefathers
in
إِن
if
kuntum
كُنتُمْ
you are
ṣādiqīna
صَٰدِقِينَ
truthful"

Wa izaa tutlaa 'alaihim aayaatuna baiyinaatim maa kaana hujjatahum illaaa an qaalu'too bi aabaaa'inaaa in kuntum saadiqeen (al-Jāthiyah 45:25)

Sahih International:

And when Our verses are recited to them as clear evidences, their argument is only that they say, "Bring [back] our forefathers, if you should be truthful." (Al-Jathiyah [45] : 25)

When Our verses are recited to them in all their clarity, their argument is none but that they say, “Bring our fathers, if you are truthful.”
