Az-Zukhruf Verse 4

And indeed, it is—in the Master Record[[ This refers to the Preserved Tablet, Al-Lawḥ Al-Maḥfûẓ, in which Allah has written the destiny of His entire creation.]] with Us—highly esteemed, rich in wisdom.

and it is in the Master Book [Preserved Tablet] with us, highly esteemed, full of wisdom.

and behold, it is in the Essence of the Book, with Us; sublime indeed, wise.

It is truly exalted in the Source of Scripture kept with Us, and full of wisdom.

And verily it is, in the Original Book before Us, indeed exalted.

And verily, it is in the Mother of the Book, in Our Presence, high (in dignity), full of wisdom.

Indeed it is transcribed in the Original Book with Us; sublime and full of wisdom.

It is inscribed in the original Book (of Books) with Us, sublime, dispenser of (all) laws.

And the Qur’an is undoubtedly, in the Original Book with Us, surely the exalted, full of wisdom.

and it is sublime and wise with Us in the Mother Book.

Surely it is in the Mother Book with Us, exalted, firm and decisive.

And it (- the Qur´ân) lies (safe) with Us in the Mother of the Book (which is the source of all knowledge), and (it is) indeed eminently sublime and full of wisdom.

And that it truly is in The Books` mother/origin at Us (The Book`s origin is at Us), height and mighty (E) ,wise/judicious (full of wisdom).

And the Qur’an is undoubtedly, in the Original Book with Us, surely the exalted, full of wisdom.

And surely it is in the Mother of the Books with Us, truly sublime, full of wisdom.

And Verily, it (this Quran) is in the Mother of the Book (i.e. Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz), before Us, indeed Exalted, full of Wisdom.

Surely We have made it an Arabic Qur’an that you may understand.

And surely it is in the original of the Book with Us, truly elevated, full of wisdom.

And Lo! in the Source of Decrees, which We possess, it is indeed sublime, decisive.

It (the Quran) exists in the original Book with Us which is certainly Most Exalted, full of wisdom and (beyond linguistic structures).

It is in the Origin of the Book with Us, sublime and wise.

And verily, it is in the Mother of the Book with Us, indeed exalted, full of wisdom.

Truly, it is inscribed in the Original Book, in Our keeping; it is sublime and full of wisdom.

And it is with Us, in the Source Book, sublime and wise.

And it is indeed, fixed, in the Mother Book, the source of all the scriptures, namely, the Preserved Tablet, [which is] with Us (ladayn substitutes [for f ummi'l-kitbi, `in the Mother Book']) [and it is] indeed exalted, above [all] the scriptures [that came] before it, wise, containing excellent wisdoms.

And verily, it is in the Mother of the Book with Us, indeed exalted, full of wisdom.

This explains the high status of the Qur'an among the hosts on high (the angels), so that the people of earth will respect it, venerate it and obey it.

وَإِنَّهُ
(And verily, it),

means, the Qur'an,

فِي أُمِّ الْكِتَاب
(is in the Mother of the Book),

meaning, Al-Lawh Al-Mahfuz (the Preserved Tablet).

This was the view of Ibn `Abbas and Mujahid.

لَدَيْنَا
(with Us,)

means, in Our presence.

This was the view of Qatadah and others.

لَعَلِيٌّ
(indeed exalted),

means, occupying a position of honor and virtue.

This was the view of Qatadah.

حَكِيمٌ
(full of wisdom),

means, clear, with no confusion or deviation.

All of this indicates its noble status and virtue, as Allah says elsewhere;

إِنَّهُ لَقُرْءَانٌ كَرِيمٌ

فِى كِتَـبٍ مَّكْنُونٍ

لااَّ يَمَسُّهُ إِلااَّ الْمُطَهَّرُونَ

تَنزِيلٌ مِّن رَّبِّ الْعَـلَمِينَ

That (this) is indeed an honorable recitation. In a Book well-guarded. Which none can touch but the pure. A revelation from the Lord of the all that exists. (56;77-80)

كَلَّ إِنَّهَا تَذْكِرَةٌ

فَمَن شَأءَ ذَكَرَهُ

فَى صُحُفٍ مُّكَرَّمَةٍ

مَّرْفُوعَةٍ مُّطَهَّرَةٍ

بِأَيْدِى سَفَرَةٍ كِرَامٍ بَرَرَةٍ

Nay, indeed it is an admonition. So whoever wills, let him pay attention to it. (It is) in Records held (greatly) in honor, exalted, purified, in the hands of scribes (angels), honorable and obedient. (80;11-16)

أَفَنَضْرِبُ عَنكُمُ الذِّكْرَ صَفْحًا أَن كُنتُمْ قَوْمًا مُّسْرِفِينَ
