وَالَّذِيْنَ يُحَاۤجُّوْنَ فِى اللّٰهِ مِنْۢ بَعْدِ مَا اسْتُجِيْبَ لَهٗ حُجَّتُهُمْ دَاحِضَةٌ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْ وَعَلَيْهِمْ غَضَبٌ وَّلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ شَدِيْدٌ ( الشورى: ١٦ )
wa-alladhīna
وَٱلَّذِينَ
And those who
yuḥājjūna
يُحَآجُّونَ
argue

ٱللَّهِ
Allah

ٱسْتُجِيبَ
response has been made to Him

حُجَّتُهُمْ
their argument

دَاحِضَةٌ
(is) invalid
ʿinda
عِندَ
with
rabbihim
رَبِّهِمْ
their Lord
waʿalayhim
وَعَلَيْهِمْ
and upon them
ghaḍabun
غَضَبٌ
(is) wrath
walahum
وَلَهُمْ
and for them
ʿadhābun
عَذَابٌ
(is) a punishment
shadīdun
شَدِيدٌ
severe
Wallazeena yuhaaajjoona fil laahi mim ba'di mastujeeba lahoo hujjatuhum daahidatun 'inda Rabbihim wa 'alaihim ghadabunw wa lahum 'azaabun shadeed (aš-Šūrā 42:16)
Sahih International:
And those who argue concerning Allah after He has been responded to – their argument is invalid with their Lord, and upon them is [His] wrath, and for them is a severe punishment. (Ash-Shuraa [42] : 16)
