Fussilat Verse 54

They are truly in doubt of the meeting with their Lord! ˹But˺ He is indeed Fully Aware of everything.

Indeed, they are in doubt concerning the meeting with their Lord; He truly encompasses all things.

Are they not in doubt touching the encounter with their Lord? Does He not encompass everything?

Truly, they doubt that they will meet their Lord; truly He encompasses everything.

Lo! they are in doubt concerning the meeting with their Lord: Lo! He Is of everything the Encompasser!

Ah indeed! Are they in doubt concerning the Meeting with their Lord? Ah indeed! It is He that doth encompass all things!

Lo, they are in doubt concerning their meeting with their Lord. Surely He fully encompasses everything.

In truth they are in doubt that they will ever face their Lord. Do they not know that He surrounds all things?

Pay heed! They are certainly doubtful regarding the meeting with their Lord; pay heed! He encompasses all things!

Indeed, they are in doubt about the encounter with their Lord! Indeed, He embraces all things!

Beware! They are in (willful) doubt about the meeting with God (because they vainly expect to escape accounting for their deeds, and therefore decline to believe in the Qur’an). Beware! He is One Who encompasses all things (in His Knowledge and Power).

Look! they are in disquieting and grave doubt about the meeting with their Lord. Beware! He certainly encompasses every thing (in His Knowledge and power).

Is (it) not that they truly are in doubt from meeting their Lord? Is (it) not that He truly is with every thing surrounding/encircling?351

Pay heed! They are certainly doubtful regarding the meeting with their Lord; pay heed! He encompasses all things!

What! Are they still in doubt about the meeting with their Lord? What! Does He not encompass (surround and penetrate) all things?

Verily! They are in doubt concerning the Meeting with their Lord? (i.e. Resurrection after their deaths, and their return to their Lord). Verily! He it is Who is surrounding all things!

We will soon show them Our signs in farthest regions and among their own people, until it is quite clear to them that it is the Truth. Is it not enough that thy Lord is a Witness over all things?

Now surely they are in doubt as to the meeting of their Lord; now surely He encompasses all things.

How! Are they still in doubt about the meeting with their Lord? Lo! Is not He surrounding all things?

They are certainly doubtful about their meeting with their Lord. God indeed encompasses all things.

Are they not in doubt concerning the Meeting with their Lord? Attention, He encompasses everything.

Lo, Verily, they are in doubt concerning the meeting with their Lord. Verily, He is surrounding all things!

Yet they still doubt that they will ever meet their Lord. Surely, He encompasses all things.

Surely they are in doubt about the encounter with their Lord. Surely He comprehends everything.

Nay, verily they are in doubt about the encounter with their Lord, because they deny the Resurrection. Nay, verily He, exalted be He, encompasses all things, in knowledge and in power, and so He will requite them for their disbelief. Meccan, except for verses 23, 24, 25 and 26, which are Medinese; it consists of 53 verses revealed after [srat] Fussilat.

أَلَا إِنَّهُمْ فِي مِرْيَةٍ مِّن لِّقَاء رَبِّهِمْ

Lo, Verily, they are in doubt concerning the meeting with their Lord.

means, they doubt that the Hour will come, they do not think about it or strive for it or pay heed to it; on the contrary, they regard it as irrelevant and do not care about it. But it will undoubtedly come to pass. Then Allah states that He is Able to do all things and He encompasses all things, and it is very easy for Him to bring about the Hour;

أَلَا إِنَّهُ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ مُّحِيطٌ



Verily, He is surrounding all things!

means, all of creation is subject to His control, dominion and knowledge; He is controlling all things by His power, so whatever He wills happens, and whatever He does not will does not happen, and there is no god worthy of worship apart from Him.
