As-Saffat Verse 143

Had he not ˹constantly˺ glorified ˹Allah˺,[[ Before being swallowed and while inside the whale (see {21:87}). The lesson is: good deeds are of great help during difficult times. ]]

Were it not for the fact that he was one of those who glorify Allah,

Now had he not been of those that glorify God,

If he had not been one of those who glorified God,

And had he not been of those who hallow Him,

Had it not been that he (repented and) glorified Allah,

Had he not been one of those who glorify Allah,

Had he not been one of those who struggled hard,

And were he not one of those who praise. –

Had he not been one of those who celebrate Allah’s glory,

Had it not been that he was one who always glorified God, (declaring Him absolutely above having any defects and partners),

Had he not been of those who glorify (God)

So had it not been for that he (was) from the praising/glorifying.

And were he not one of those who praise. -

But had it not been that he was of those who glorify (Us),

Had he not been of them who glorify Allah,

So the fish took him into its mouth while he was blamable.

But had it not been that he was of those who glorify (Us),

And had he not been one of those who glorify (Allah)

Had he not glorified God,

and had he not been among those who exalt (Allah),

Had he not been of them who glorify Allah,

Had he not been one of those who acknowledge the glory of God,

Had he not been one of those who praised.

And had he not been one of those who glorify [God], that is to say, those who make remembrance [of God], for inside the whale's belly he was repeatedly saying [the words] `There is no god except You. Glory be to You! I have indeed been one of the wrongdoers' [Q. 21;87],

لَلَبِثَ فِي بَطْنِهِ إِلَى يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ
