Al-'Ankabut Verse 37

But they rejected him, so an ˹overwhelming˺ earthquake struck them and they fell lifeless in their homes.

But (instead of obeying him) they cried him (-Shu`aib) lies. So they were caught in a violent earthquake and they became (corpses) laid down on their breasts on the ground in their dwellings.

So they denied him so the tremble and shake/quake/agitation punished/took them, so they became/became in the morning in their home/country/tribe stuck to the ground dead .

In response they denied him – thereupon the earthquake seized them – so at morning they remained lying flattened in their homes.

And unto Midian We sent their brother Shu´eyb, and he said, "My people, serve Allah, and fear the Last Day; and do not evil, making mischief in the land, (despoiling it)."

And they belied him [Shu'aib (Shuaib)], so the earthquake seized them, and they lay (dead), prostrate in their dwellings.

And certainly We have left a clear sign of it for a people who understand.

فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ الرَّجْفَةُ

And they denied him; so the earthquake seized them,

فَأَصْبَحُوا فِي دَارِهِمْ جَاثِمِينَ



and they lay, prostrate in their dwellings.

Qatadah said, "They were dead."

Others said that they were thrown on top of one another
