An-Naml Verse 56

But his people’s only response was to say, “Expel Lot’s followers from your land! They are a people who wish to remain chaste!”

But the only response his people gave was to say, “Drive the family of Lot out of your town, for they are a people who keep themselves pure!”

And the only answer of his people was that they said, 'Expel the folk of Lot from your city; they are men that keep themselves clean!'

The only answer his people gave was to say, ‘Expel Lot’s followers from your town! These men mean to stay chaste!’

Then there was no answer of his people save that they said: drive forth the family of Lut from your City, verily they are a people who would be pure!

But his people gave no other answer but this; they said, "Drive out the followers of Lut from your city; these are indeed men who want to be clean and pure!"

But this had only one answer from his people. They said: "Expel Lot's folk from your city. They pretend to be absolutely clean."

His people had no answer except saying: "Expel the family of Lot from your city. They are a people who would (rather) be pure!"

Therefore the answer of his people was nothing except that they said, “Expel the family of Lut from your township; these people wish purity!”

But the only answer of his people was that they said, ‘Expel Lot’s family from your town! They are indeed a puritanical lot.’

But his people’s only reply was nothing but to say (to one another): "Expel Lot’s family (as well as himself) from your land. They are a people who make themselves out to be pure!"

But his people had no reply except that they said, `Drive the followers of Lot out of your township. They are a people who would pose (and parade) to be extra pure and righteous (internally and externally).´

So his nation`s answer/reply was not except that they said: "Bring/drive out Lot`s family from your village/urban city, that they are people purifying ."

Therefore the answer of his people was nothing except that they said, “Expel the family of Lut from your township; these people wish purity!”

Must you needs lust after men instead of women? Nay! You are a senseless people."

There was no other answer given by his people except that they said: "Drive out the family of Lout (Lot) from your city. Verily, these are men who want to be clean and pure!"

And Lot, when he said to his people: Do you commit foul deeds, while you see?

But the answer of his people was no other except that they ~s said: Turn out Lut's followers from your town; surely they are a people who would keep pure!

But the answer of his folk was naught save that they said: Expel the household of Lot from your township, for they (forsooth) are folk who would keep clean!

His people had no answer but to say, "Expel Lot and his family from the town for they want to be pure."

Yet the only answer of his nation was that they said: 'Expel the family of Lot from your village, they are people who purified themselves'

There was no other answer given by his people except that they said: "Drive out the family of Lut from your city. Verily, these are men who want to be clean and pure!"

The only answer of his people was, "Drive out Lot and his family from the city. They are a people who make themselves out to be pure."

But the only response of his people was to say, “Expel the family of Lot from your town. They are purist people.”

But the only response of his people was that they said, `Expel Lot's family from your town. They are indeed a folk who [prefer to] remain pure!', from [coming unto] the rears of men.

There was no other answer given by his people except that they said;"Drive out the family of Lut from your city. Verily, these are men who want to be clean and pure!"

means, `they feel embarrassed because of the deeds you are doing, and because you approve of your actions, so expel them from among yourselves, for they are not fit to live among you in your city.'

So, the people resolved to do that, and Allah destroyed them, and a similar end awaits the disbelievers.

Allah says;

فَأَنجَيْنَاهُ وَأَهْلَهُ إِلاَّ امْرَأَتَهُ قَدَّرْنَاهَا مِنَ الْغَابِرِينَ
