An-Naml Verse 54

And ˹remember˺ Lot, when he rebuked ˹the men of˺ his people, “Do you commit that shameful deed while you can see ˹one another˺?

And [remember] Lot, when he said to his people, “Do you commit this shameful act while seeing [one another]?

And Lot, when he said to his people, 'What, do you commit indecency with your eyes open?

We also sent Lot to his people. He said to them, ‘How can you commit this outrage with your eyes wide open?

And Lut! what time he said unto his people: commit ye indecency while ye see?

(We also sent) Lut (as a messenger); behold, He said to his people, "Do ye do what is shameful though ye see (its iniquity)?

We also sent Lot, and recall when he told his people: "Do you commit shameless acts with your eyes open?

(Remember) Lot, when he said to his people: "Why do you indulge in obscenities when you know (it is evil)?

And (remember) Lut when he said to his people, “What! You stoop to the shameful whereas you can see?”

[We also sent] Lot, when he said to his people, ‘What! Do you commit this indecency while you look on?

We also sent Lot as Messenger. He warned his people: "Will you do that abhorrent indecency in plain view (of one another)?

And (We also sent) Lot (as a Messenger). (Recall) when he said to his people, `Do you commit obscenity while you see (the evil thereof).

And Lot when he said to his nation: "Do you commit the enormous/atrocious deed/homosexuality ,and you are seeing/ understanding ?"

And (remember) Lut when he said to his people, “What! You stoop to the shameful whereas you can see?”

But We saved those who believed and who did fear (or avoid evil).

And (remember) Lout (Lot)! When he said to his people. Do you commit Al-Fahishah (evil, great sin, every kind of unlawful sexual intercourse, sodomy, etc.) while you see (one another doing evil without any screen, etc.)?"

So those are their houses fallen own because they were iniquitous. Surely there is a sign in this for a people who know.

And (We sent) Lut, when he said to his people: What! do you commit indecency while you see?

And Lot! when he said unto his folk: Will ye commit abomination knowingly?

Lot asked his people, "Do you understandably commit indecency?

And Lot, he said to his nation: 'Do you commit indecencies with your eyes open!

And (remember) Lut! When he said to his people: "Do you commit immoral sins while you see"

And tell of Lot. He said to his people, "Will you commit evil knowingly?

And Lot, when he said to his people, “Do you commit lewdness with open eyes?

And Lot (Ltan is in the accusative because of an implied udhkur, `mention', before it, and it [Ltan] is substituted by [the following, idh qla ...]), when he said to his people, `What! Do you commit [such] abomination, namely, homosexual intercourse, while you watch?, that is to say, while you watch one another, [so] engrossed [are you] in the sinful act?

Lut and His People

Allah tells;

وَلُوطًا إِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِهِ

And (remember) Lut! When he said to his people;

Allah tells us about His servant and Messenger Lut, peace be upon him, and how he warned his people of Allah's punishment for committing an act of immorality which no human ever committed before them -- intercourse with males instead of females. This is a major sin, whereby men are satisfied with men and women are with women (i.e., homosexuality).

Lut said;

أَتَأْتُونَ الْفَاحِشَةَ وَأَنتُمْ تُبْصِرُونَ



Do you commit immoral sins while you see!

meaning, `while you see one another, and you practice every kind of evil in your meetings.'

أَيِنَّكُمْ لَتَأْتُونَ الرِّجَالَ شَهْوَةً مِّن دُونِ النِّسَاء بَلْ أَنتُمْ قَوْمٌ تَجْهَلُونَ
