An-Naml Verse 17

Solomon’s forces of jinn, humans, and birds were rallied for him, perfectly organized.

Solomon’s armies of jinn, men and birds were assembled before him, marching in organized ranks,

And his hosts were mustered to Solomon, jinn, men and birds, duly disposed;

Solomon’s hosts of jinn, men, and birds were marshalled in ordered ranks before him,

And there were gathered unto Sulaiman his hosts of jinns and mankind and birds, and they were set in bands.

And before Solomon were marshalled his hosts,- of Jinns and men and birds, and they were all kept in order and ranks.

Hosts of jinn and humans and birds were marshalled for Solomon and were kept under full control.

His armies of jinns and men and Tair assembled, formed into ranks, (and marched)

And assembled together for Sulaiman were his armies of jinns and men, and of birds – so they had to be restricted.

[Once] Solomon’s hosts were marched out for him, comprising jinn, humans and birds, and they were held in check.

One day his hosts of jinn, and of human beingsmen, and of birds were assembled before Solomon (upon his command), and were led forth under full control

And there were gathered together before Solomon his hosts comprising of jinn (- haughty) and (ordinary) men and birds and swift footed horses, and they were then arranged in separate well-disciplined columns.

And was gathered for Soliman his soldiers/warriors from the Jinns and the human/mankind, and the birds, so they are being restrained/apportioned (mobilized).

And assembled together for Sulaiman were his armies of jinns and men, and of birds – so they had to be restricted.

And Solomon was David´s heir. He said, "O you people! We have been taught the language of birds, and we have been given abundance; verily, this is manifest grace!"

And there were gathered before Sulaiman (Solomon) his hosts of jinns and men, and birds, and they all were set in battle order (marching forwards).

And certainly We gave knowledge to David and Solomon. And they said: Praise be to Allah, Who has made us excel many of His believing servants!

And his hosts of the jinn and the men and the birds were gathered to him, and they were formed into groups.

And there were gathered together unto Solomon his armies of the jinn and humankind, and of the birds, and they were set in battle order;

Soloman's army, consisting of human beings, jinn, and birds were gathered together in his presence in ranks.

We gathered to Solomon his army of jinn, humans and birds; gathered and dispersed,

And there were gathered before Sulayman his hosts of Jinn and men, and birds, and they all were set in battle order (marching forward).

Solomon's hosts of jinn and men and birds, were all gathered together in his presence and were ranged in battle order,

To the service of Solomon were mobilized his troops of sprites, and men, and birds—all held in strict order.

And, on one journey, Solomon's hosts of jinn and humans and birds stood assembled for him as they were being arrayed, brought together [in groups] and marshalled.

And there were gathered before Suleiman his hosts of Jinn and men, and birds, and they all were set in battle order.

means, all of Suleiman's troops of Jinn, men and birds were gathered together, and he rode with them in a display of might and glory, with people marching behind him, followed by the Jinn, and the birds flying above his head. When it was hot, they would shade him with their wings.

فَهُمْ يُوزَعُونَ


and they all were set in battle order.

The first and the last of them were brought together, so that none of them would step out of place.

Mujahid said;

"Officials were appointed to keep each group in order, and to keep the first and the last together so that no one would step out of line -- just as kings do nowadays.
