Ash-Shu'ara Verse 4

If We willed, We could send down upon them a ˹compelling˺ sign from the heavens, leaving their necks bent in ˹utter˺ submission to it.

If We willed, We could send down upon them a sign from the heaven, at which their necks would stay bowed in humility.

If We will, We shall send down on them out of heaven a sign, so their necks will stay humbled to it.

If We had wished, We could have sent them down a sign from heaven, at which their necks would stay bowed in utter humility.

If We list, We can send down unto them a sign from the heaven so that their necks would became to it submissive.

If (such) were Our Will, We could send down to them from the sky a Sign, to which they would bend their necks in humility.

If We will, We can send down a Sign to them from heaven, so their necks will be humbled to it.

We could send down from the heavens a sign to them if We pleased, before which their heads would remain bowed.

If We will, We can send down on them a sign from the sky so that their leaders would remain bowed before it.

If We wish We will send down to them a sign from the sky before which their heads will remain bowed in humility.

If We will, We can send down a (compelling) sign on them from heaven, so that they are forced to bow their necks before it (in humility).

If We so please We can send down upon them such a sign from above that their necks would bend (and heads bow down) in submission to it.

If We want We descend on them from the sky an evidence/sign , so their necks continued/became to it bending/leaning .

If We will, We can send down on them a sign from the sky so that their leaders would remain bowed before it.

It may be that you are tormenting your soul that they will not be believers.

If We will, We could send down to them from the heaven a sign, to which they would bend their necks in humility.

Perhaps thou wilt kill thyself with grief because they believe not.

If We please, We should send down upon them a sign from the heaven so that their necks should stoop to it.

If We will, We can send down on them from the sky a portent so that their necks would remain bowed before it.

Had We wanted, We would have sent them a miracle from the sky to make their heads hang down in submission.

If We will, We can send down on them a sign from heaven before which their necks will remain humbled.

If We will, We could send down to them from the heaven a sign, to which they would bend their necks in humility.

But if We had so willed, We could have sent down to them a sign from the heavens so that their heads would be bowed down before it in utter humility.

If We will, We can send down upon them a sign from heaven, at which their necks will stay bent in humility.

If We will We will send down to them a sign from the heaven before which their necks will remain (fa-zallat, [although grammatically in the past tense] is being used in the sense of the imperfect tense) bowed in humility, and they will believe (since `necks' are described as `bowed in humility', [a status] which in fact refers to those who possess them, the adjectival form [khdi`n, `bowed in humility'] used therein is the one [normally] used for rational beings).

If We will, We could send down to them from the heaven a sign, to which they would bend their necks in humility.

meaning, `if We so willed, We could send down a sign that would force them to believe, but We will not do that because We do not want anyone to believe except by choice.'

Allah says;

وَلَوْ شَأءَ رَبُّكَ لامَنَ مَن فِى الاٌّرْضِ كُلُّهُمْ جَمِيعًا أَفَأَنتَ تُكْرِهُ النَّاسَ حَتَّى يَكُونُواْ مُوْمِنِينَ

And had your Lord willed, those on earth would have believed, all of them together. So, will you then compel mankind, until they become believers. (10;99)

وَلَوْ شَأءَ رَبُّكَ لَجَعَلَ النَّاسَ أُمَّةً وَاحِدَةً

And if your Lord had so willed, He could surely, have made mankind one Ummah... (11;118)

But Allah's will has acted, His decree has come to pass, and His proof has been conveyed to mankind by mission of Messengers and the revelation of Books to them.

Then Allah says;

وَمَا يَأْتِيهِم مِّن ذِكْرٍ مِّنَ الرَّحْمَنِ مُحْدَثٍ إِلاَّ كَانُوا عَنْهُ مُعْرِضِينَ
