Al-Furqan Verse 67

˹They are˺ those who spend neither wastefully nor stingily, but moderately in between.

And those who neither spend wastefully nor stingily, but are moderate between them;

who, when they expend, are neither prodigal nor parsimonious, but between that is a just stand;

They are those who are neither wasteful nor niggardly when they spend, but keep to a just balance;

And those who when they expend, are neither extravagant nor sparing, and it is a medium in-between.

Those who, when they spend, are not extravagant and not niggardly, but hold a just (balance) between those (extremes);

who, when they spend, are neither extravagant nor miserly but keep the golden mean between the two (extremes):

Who are neither prodigal nor miserly in their spending but follow a middle path;

And those who, when spending, neither exceed the limits nor act miserly, and stay in moderation between the two.

Those who are neither wasteful nor tightfisted when spending, but balanced between these [two extremes].

And who, when they spend (both for their own and others’ needs), are neither wasteful nor niggardly, and (are aware that) there is a happy mean between those (two extremes);

And (the true servants of God are those) who, when spending, are neither extravagant nor niggardly, (but their spendings follow) a middle course, ever moderate;

And those who if they spent, they did not waste/extravagate and they did not tighten/restrict and economize, and was (were) between that just .

And those who, when spending, neither exceed the limits nor act miserly, and stay in moderation between the two.

"Verily, indeed an evil abode and state."

And those, who, when they spend, are neither extravagant nor niggardly, but hold a medium (way) between those (extremes).

It is surely an evil abode and resting-place!

And they who when they spend, are neither extravagant nor parsimonious, and (keep) between these the just mean.

And those who, when they spend, are neither prodigal nor grudging; and there is ever a firm station between the two;

who in their spending are neither extravagant nor stingy but maintain moderation,

who when they spend are neither wasteful nor miserly, between that is a just stand,

And those who, when they spend, are neither extravagant nor stingy, but are in a just balance between them.

They are those who are neither extravagant nor niggardly, but keep a balance between the two;

And those who, when they spend, are neither wasteful nor stingy, but choose a middle course between that.

And who, when they expend, upon their dependants, are neither prodigal nor parsimonious (read yaqtur or yuqtir); but between such, prodigality and parsimony, lies -- [between the two] their expenditure [is in] -- moderation;

وَالَّذِينَ إِذَا أَنفَقُوا لَمْ يُسْرِفُوا وَلَمْ يَقْتُرُوا

And those who, when they spend, are neither extravagant nor stingy...

They are not extravagant, spending more than they need, nor are they miserly towards their families, not spending enough on their needs. But they follow the best and fairest way. The best of matters are those which are moderate, neither one extreme nor the other.

وَكَانَ بَيْنَ ذَلِكَ قَوَامًا



but are in a just balance between them.

This is like the Ayah,

وَلَا تَجْعَلْ يَدَكَ مَغْلُولَةً إِلَى عُنُقِكَ وَلَا تَبْسُطْهَا كُلَّ الْبَسْطِ

And let not your hand be tied to your neck, nor stretch it forth to its utmost reach. (17;29
