Al-Mu'minun Verse 75

˹Even˺ if We had mercy on them and removed their affliction,[[ This refers to famine which affected the pagans of Mecca.]] they would still persist in their transgression, wandering blindly.

Even if We were to show them mercy and relieve their adversity, they would still persist in their transgression, wandering blindly.

Did We have mercy on them, and remove the affliction that is upon them, they would persist in their insolence wandering blindly.

Even if We were to show them mercy and relieve them of distress, they would blindly persist in their transgression.

And though We have mercy on them We may remove whatsoever of hurt is with them, surely they would persist in their exorbitance, wandering perplexed.

If We had mercy on them and removed the distress which is on them, they would obstinately persist in their transgression, wandering in distraction to and fro.

Were We to be merciful to them and remove from them their present afflictions, they would persist in their transgression, blindly wandering on.

If We took compassion on them and removed the affliction they are in, they would only wander lost in confusion.

And if We have mercy upon them and remove the calamity which has befallen them, they would still stubbornly persist, wandering in their rebellion.

Should We have mercy upon them and remove their distress, they would surely persist, bewildered in their rebellion.

If We have mercy on them and remove from them the harm afflicting them, for sure they will persist in their rebellion, blindly wandering on.

And even if We had shown them mercy and relieved them of their distress they would still persist in their transgression, wandering on blindly.

And if We had mercy upon them, and We removed/uncovered (relieved) what (is) with them from harm, they would have persisted, excessed and insisted in their tyranny/arrogance being confused/puzzled .

And if We have mercy upon them and remove the calamity which has befallen them, they would still stubbornly persist, wandering in their rebellion.

But, verily, those who believe not in the Hereafter, they are indeed astray from that Way.

And though We had mercy on them and removed the distress which is on them, still they would obstinately persist in their transgression, wandering blindly.

And surely those who believe not in the Hereafter are deviating from the way.

And if We show mercy to them and remove the distress they have, they would persist in their inordinacy, blindly wandering on.

Though We had mercy on them and relieved them of the harm afflicting them, they still would wander blindly on in their contumacy.

Even if We were to grant them mercy and rescue them from hardship, they would still blindly persist in their rebellion.

If We had mercy on them and removed their afflictions, they would still persist in their insolence, blindly wandering.

And though We had mercy on them and removed the distress which is on them, still they would obstinately persist in their transgression, wandering blindly.

Even if We showed them mercy and relieved them of their afflictions, they would still persist in their transgression, wandering blindly.

Even if We had mercy on them, and relieved their problems, they would still blindly persist in their defiance.

And had We shown them mercy and relieved them of the harm afflicting them -- the famine that befell them in Mecca for seven years -- they would surely persist in their insolence, [in] their error, bewildered, hesitating.

And though We had mercy on them and removed the distress which is on them, still they would obstinately persist in their transgression, wandering blindly.

Here Allah tells of their stubbornness in their disbelief, in that even if He had removed the calamity from them and made them understand the Qur'an, they still would not follow it; they would still persist in their disbelief and stubborn transgression.

This is like the Ayat;

وَلَوْ عَلِمَ اللَّهُ فِيهِمْ خَيْرًا لَاسْمَعَهُمْ وَلَوْ أَسْمَعَهُمْ لَتَوَلَّواْ وَّهُم مُّعْرِضُونَ

Had Allah known of any good in them, He would indeed have made them listen; and even if He had made them listen, they would but have turned away with aversion. (8;23)

وَلَوْ تَرَى إِذْ وُقِفُواْ عَلَى النَّارِ فَقَالُواْ يلَيْتَنَا نُرَدُّ وَلَا نُكَذِّبَ بِـَايَـتِ رَبِّنَا وَنَكُونَ مِنَ الْمُوْمِنِينَ بَلْ بَدَا لَهُمْ مَّا كَانُواْ يُخْفُونَ مِن قَبْلُ وَلَوْ رُدُّواْ لَعَـدُواْ لِمَا نُهُواْ عَنْهُ

And if (Lauw) you could but see when they will be held over the (Hell) Fire! They will say;"Would that we were but sent back (to the world)! Then we would not deny the Ayat of our Lord, and we would be of the believers!"

Nay, it has become manifest to them what they had been concealing before. But if they were returned (to the world), they would certainly revert to that which they were forbidden. Until His statement;
بِمَبْعُوثِينَ
(be resurrected). (6;27-29)

This has to do with the knowledge of Allah. He knows about some- thing that will not happen, but if it were to happen, He knows how it would be.

Ad-Dahhak reported from Ibn Abbas;

"Every- thing that is implied in the word;
لَوْ
(If (Lauw)) is something that will never happen.
