Al-Mu'minun Verse 53

Yet the people have divided it into different sects, each rejoicing in what they have.

But people split up their religion into factions, each faction rejoicing in what it has.

But they split in their affair between them into sects, each party rejoicing in what is with them.

but they have split their community into sects, each rejoicing in their own.

Then they cut their affair among them in regard to the Scriptures: each band in that which is with them rejoicing.

But people have cut off their affair (of unity), between them, into sects; each party rejoices in that which is with itself.

But people later cut up their religion into bits, each group rejoicing in what they have.

But then they divided up their order into different creeds, each section rejoicing in what it had come to have.

But their nations broke their tasks into pieces; every group happy with what it has.

But they fragmented their religion among themselves, each party boasting about what it had.

But people, having broken up into groups, differed among themselves as regards the Religion, each group proudly rejoicing in the portion they have.

But the people, (rather than preserve their unity) split up their affair among themselves (forming themselves into factions) considering (each portion thus split up) as (the real) Scripture, every faction rejoicing in that which was with them.

So they separated their matter/affair (into) pieces every/each group/party with what (is) at them, they are happy/delighted .

But their nations broke their tasks into pieces; every group happy with what it has.

And, verily, this your religion (or brotherhood) is one religion (or brotherhood), and I am your Lord; so keep your duty unto Me.

But they (men) have broken their religion among them into sects, each group rejoicing in its belief.

And surely this your community is one community, and I am your Lord, so keep your duty to Me.

But they cut off their religion among themselves into sects, each part rejoicing in that which is with them.

But they (mankind) have broken their religion among them into sects, each group rejoicing in its tenets.

The people divided themselves into many sects, each with their own book and each happy with whatever they had.

Yet they have split their affairs between themselves into sects, each rejoicing in what it has.

But they have broken their religion among them into sects, each group rejoicing in what is with it.

Yet they divided themselves into factions, each rejoicing in what they had.

But they tore themselves into sects; each party happy with what they have.

But they, the followers, split into sects regarding their affair, their religion (zuburan, `sects', is a circumstantial qualifier of the subject of the verb taqatta`, `they split'), in other words, [they became] opposing parties, the likes of the Jews and the Christians and others, each party rejoicing in, exultant with, what they had, that is, with the religion they had.

فَتَقَطَّعُوا أَمْرَهُم بَيْنَهُمْ زُبُرًا

But they have broken their religion among them into sects,

the nations to whom Prophets were sent.

كُلُّ حِزْبٍ بِمَا لَدَيْهِمْ فَرِحُونَ



each group rejoicing in what is with it.

means, they rejoice in their misguidance because they think that they are rightly-guided.
