Taha Verse 22

And put your hand under your armpit, it will come out ˹shining˺ white, unblemished,[[ Moses, who was dark-skinned, was asked to put his hand under his armpit. When he took it out it was shining white, but not out of a skin condition like melanoma. ]] as another sign,

Put your hand under your armpit; it will come out shining white without blemish, as another sign,

Now clasp thy hand to thy arm-pit; it shall come forth white, without evil. That is a second sign.

Now place your hand under your armpit and it will come out white, though unharmed: that is another sign.

And press thy hand to thy side, it will come forth white, without hurt, as anot her sign.

"Now draw thy hand close to thy side; It shall come forth white (and shining), without harm (or stain),- as another Sign,-

And place your hand in your armpit, it will come forth shining white, without blemish. This is another Sign of Allah,

And face what is to come with patience, your hand will not be tarnished with blame: Another sign

“And put your hand inside your armpit – it will come out shining white, not due to any illness – one more sign.”

Now clasp your hand to your armpit: it will emerge white, without any harm—[this is yet] another sign,

"Now, put your (right) hand under your armpit: it will come forth shining white, flawless, as another (miraculous) sign,

`And put your hand close under your armpit, it shall come forth (shining) white, without any disease, (providing you with) another sign.

And gather/join (fold) your hand to your wing/side, it appears/emerges white with no evil/harm , another evidence/sign .

"And put your hand inside your armpit - it will come out shining white, not due to any illness - one more sign."

He said, "Take hold of it and fear not; We will restore it to its former state.

"And press your (right) hand to your (left) side, it will come forth white (and shining), without any disease as another sign,

He said: Seize it and fear not. We shall return it to its former state.

And press your hand to your side, it shall come out white without evil: another sign:

And thrust thy hand within thine armpit, it will come forth white without hurt. (That will be) another token.

"Now - as another Sign - place your hand under your arm and it will come out sheer white without harm (or stain).

Now, put your hand under your armpit. It shall come out white, without evil, a second sign.

"And press your (right) hand to your (left) side: it will come forth white (and shining), without any disease as another sign,"

Put your hand under your armpit: it will come out [shining] white, without any blemish. This shall be another sign.

And press your hand to your side; it will come out white, without a blemish—another sign.

And thrust your hand, the right one, meaning, the palm, into your flank -- that is, your left side, below the arm into the armpit, and [then] take it out -- it will emerge white, in contrast to the skin-colour that it was, without any fault, that is, [without any sign of] leprosy, radiating like the rays of the sun, blinding to the eyes [of onlookers]. [That is] yet another sign (yatan ukhr; this together with bayd'a, `white', constitute two circumstantial qualifiers referring to the subject of [the verb] takhruj, `it will emerge').

The Hand of Musa turning White without any Disease

This is the second sign of Musa. That is Allah has commanded him to place his hand into the opening of his garment, as is clearly stated in another Ayah. It mentioned here merely as a passing reference, saying;

وَاضْمُمْ يَدَكَ إِلَى جَنَاحِكَ

And press your hand to your side;

Allah said in another Ayah,

وَاضْمُمْ إِلَيْكَ جَنَاحَكَ مِنَ الرَّهْبِ فَذَانِكَ بُرْهَانَـنِ مِن رَّبِّكَ إِلَى فِرْعَوْنَ وَمَلَيِهِ

And draw your hand close to your side to be free from fear. These are two signs from your Lord to Fir`awn and his chiefs. (28;32)

Mujahid said,
وَاضْمُمْ يَدَكَ إِلَى جَنَاحِكَ
(And press your hand to your side;),

"This means put your palm under your upper arm."

When Musa put his hand into the opening of his garment and brought it out, it came out shining as if it were a half moon.

Concerning His statement,

تَخْرُجْ بَيْضَاء مِنْ غَيْرِ سُوءٍ

it will come forth white, without any disease,

This means without any leprosy, ailment, or disfigurement.

This was stated by Ibn Abbas, Mujahid, Ikrimah, Qatadah, Ad-Dahhak, As-Suddi and others.

Al-Hasan Al-Basri said,

"He brought it out, and by Allah, it was as if it were a lamp. From this Musa knew that he had surely met his Lord, the Mighty and Sublime."

ايَةً أُخْرَى




as another sign,"

This is the second sign of Musa.

Allah says,

لِنُرِيَكَ مِنْ ايَاتِنَا الْكُبْرَى
