وَاِنْ كَانَ ذُوْ عُسْرَةٍ فَنَظِرَةٌ اِلٰى مَيْسَرَةٍ ۗ وَاَنْ تَصَدَّقُوْا خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ تَعْلَمُوْنَ  ( البقرة: ٢٨٠ )

wa-in

taṣaddaqū
تَصَدَّقُوا۟
you remit as charity
khayrun
خَيْرٌ
(it is) better
lakum
لَّكُمْۖ
for you

إِن
If
kuntum
كُنتُمْ
you
taʿlamūna
تَعْلَمُونَ
know

Wa in kaana zoo 'usratin fanaziratun ilaa maisarah; wa an tasaddaqoo khairul lakum in kuntum ta'lamoon (al-Baq̈arah 2:280)

Sahih International:

And if someone is in hardship, then [let there be] postponement until [a time of] ease. But if you give [from your right as] charity, then it is better for you, if you only knew. (Al-Baqarah [2] : 280)

1 Mufti Taqi Usmani

If there is one in misery, then (the creditor should allow) deferment till (his) ease, and that you forgo it as alms is much better for you, if you really know.
