وَلَىِٕنْ اَتَيْتَ الَّذِيْنَ اُوْتُوا الْكِتٰبَ بِكُلِّ اٰيَةٍ مَّا تَبِعُوْا قِبْلَتَكَ ۚ وَمَآ اَنْتَ بِتَابِعٍ قِبْلَتَهُمْ ۚ وَمَا بَعْضُهُمْ بِتَابِعٍ قِبْلَةَ بَعْضٍۗ وَلَىِٕنِ اتَّبَعْتَ اَهْوَاۤءَهُمْ مِّنْۢ بَعْدِ مَاجَاۤءَكَ مِنَ الْعِلْمِ ۙ اِنَّكَ اِذًا لَّمِنَ الظّٰلِمِيْنَ ۘ   ( البقرة: ١٤٥ )

wala-in
وَلَئِنْ
And even if
atayta
أَتَيْتَ
you come
alladhīna

(to) those who

أُوتُوا۟
were given
l-kitāba
ٱلْكِتَٰبَ
the Book
bikulli
بِكُلِّ
with all

ءَايَةٍ
(the) signs
مَّا

tabiʿū
تَبِعُوا۟
they would follow
qib'lataka
قِبْلَتَكَۚ
your direction of prayer
wamā
وَمَآ
and not
anta
أَنتَ
(will) you (be)
bitābiʿin
بِتَابِعٍ
a follower
qib'latahum
قِبْلَتَهُمْۚ
(of) their direction of prayer
wamā
وَمَا
And not
baʿḍuhum
بَعْضُهُم
some of them
bitābiʿin
بِتَابِعٍ
(are) followers
qib'lata
قِبْلَةَ
(of the) direction of prayer
baʿḍin
بَعْضٍۚ
(of each) other
wala-ini
وَلَئِنِ
And if
ittabaʿta
ٱتَّبَعْتَ
you followed
ahwāahum
أَهْوَآءَهُم
their desires
min
مِّنۢ
from
baʿdi
بَعْدِ
after
مَا
[what]
jāaka
جَآءَكَ
came to you
mina
مِنَ
of
l-ʿil'mi
ٱلْعِلْمِۙ
the knowledge
innaka
إِنَّكَ
indeed, you
idhan
إِذًا
(would) then
lamina
لَّمِنَ
(be) surely among
l-ẓālimīna
ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
the wrongdoers

Wa la'in ataital lazeena ootul kitaaba bikulli aayatim maa tabi'oo Qiblatak; wa maaa anta bitaabi'in Qiblatahum; wa maa ba'duhum bitaabi''in Qiblata ba'd; wa la'init taba'ta ahwaaa;ahum mim ba'di maa jaaa'aka minal 'ilmi innaka izal laminaz zaalimeen (al-Baq̈arah 2:145)

Sahih International:

And if you brought to those who were given the Scripture every sign, they would not follow your qiblah. Nor will you be a follower of their qiblah. Nor would they be followers of one another's qiblah. So if you were to follow their desires after what has come to you of knowledge, indeed, you would then be among the wrongdoers. (Al-Baqarah [2] : 145)

1 Mufti Taqi Usmani

Even if you bring every sign to those who have been given the Book, they would not follow your Qiblah, and you are not to follow their Qiblah, nor are they to follow each other’s Qiblah. If you were to follow their desires despite the knowledge that has come to you, you will then certainly be among the unjust.
