اَوَكُلَّمَا عٰهَدُوْا عَهْدًا نَّبَذَهٗ فَرِيْقٌ مِّنْهُمْ ۗ بَلْ اَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُوْنَ ( البقرة: ١٠٠ )

أَوَكُلَّمَا
And is (it not that) whenever

عَٰهَدُوا۟
they took
ʿahdan
عَهْدًا
a covenant
nabadhahu
نَّبَذَهُۥ
threw it away
farīqun
فَرِيقٌ
a party
min'hum
مِّنْهُمۚ
of them?
bal
بَلْ
Nay
aktharuhum
أَكْثَرُهُمْ
most of them
lā
لَا
(do) not
yu'minūna
يُؤْمِنُونَ
believe
Awa kullamaa 'aahadoo ahdan nabazahoo fareequm minhum; bal aksaruhum laa u'minoon (al-Baq̈arah 2:100)
Sahih International:
Is it not [true] that every time they took a covenant a party of them threw it away? But, [in fact], most of them do not believe. (Al-Baqarah [2] : 100)

Would it always be that every time they enter into a pact, a group from among them should throw it aside? In fact, most of them do not believe.
