وَاِذَا بُشِّرَ اَحَدُهُمْ بِالْاُنْثٰى ظَلَّ وَجْهُهٗ مُسْوَدًّا وَّهُوَ كَظِيْمٌۚ ( النحل: ٥٨ )
wa-idhā
وَإِذَا
And when
bushira
بُشِّرَ
is given good news
aḥaduhum
أَحَدُهُم
(to) one of them
bil-unthā
بِٱلْأُنثَىٰ
of a female
ẓalla
ظَلَّ
turns
wajhuhu
وَجْهُهُۥ
his face
mus'waddan
مُسْوَدًّا
dark
wahuwa
وَهُوَ
and he
kaẓīmun
كَظِيمٌ
suppresses grief
Wa izaa bushshira ahaduhum bil unsaa zalla wajhuhoo muswaddanw wa huwa kazeem (an-Naḥl 16:58)
Sahih International:
And when one of them is informed of [the birth of] a female, his face becomes dark, and he suppresses grief. (An-Nahl [16] : 58)

When one of them is given the good news of a female child, his face becomes gloomy and he is choked with grief.
