وَاِنْ عَاقَبْتُمْ فَعَاقِبُوْا بِمِثْلِ مَا عُوْقِبْتُمْ بِهٖۗ وَلَىِٕنْ صَبَرْتُمْ لَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لِّلصّٰبِرِيْنَ   ( النحل: ١٢٦ )

wa-in
وَإِنْ
And if
ʿāqabtum
عَاقَبْتُمْ
you retaliate
faʿāqibū
فَعَاقِبُوا۟
then retaliate
bimith'li
بِمِثْلِ
with the like
مَا
of what
ʿūqib'tum
عُوقِبْتُم
you were afflicted
bihi
بِهِۦۖ
with [it]
wala-in
وَلَئِن
But if
ṣabartum
صَبَرْتُمْ
you are patient
lahuwa
لَهُوَ
surely (it) is
khayrun
خَيْرٌ
better
lilṣṣābirīna
لِّلصَّٰبِرِينَ
for those who are patient

Wa in 'aaqabtum fa'aaqiboo bimisli maa 'ooqibtum bihee wa la'in sabartum lahuwa khairul lissaabireen (an-Naḥl 16:126)

Sahih International:

And if you punish [an enemy, O believers], punish with an equivalent of that with which you were harmed. But if you are patient – it is better for those who are patient. (An-Nahl [16] : 126)

And if you were to harm (them) in retaliation, harm them to the measure you were harmed. And if you opt for patience, it is definitely much better for those who are patient.
