Yusuf Verse 28

So when her husband saw that Joseph’s shirt was torn from the back, he said ˹to her˺, “This must be ˹an example˺ of the cunning of you ˹women˺! Indeed, your cunning is so shrewd!

When he saw that his shirt was torn from the back, he said, “This is your guile [O women]; your guile is great indeed!

When he saw his shirt was torn from behind he said, 'This is of your women's guile; surely your guile is great.

When the husband saw that the shirt was torn at the back, he said, ‘This is another instance of women’s treachery: your treachery is truly great.

So when he saw his shirt rent from behind, he said: verily it is of the guile of ye women; verily the guile of ye women is mighty.

So when he saw his shirt,- that it was torn at the back,- (her husband) said; "Behold! It is a snare of you women! truly, mighty is your snare!

So when the husband saw Joseph's shirt torn from behind he exclaimed: "Surely, this is one of the tricks of you women; your tricks are indeed great.

When the husband saw the shirt torn at the back, he said: "Surely this is a woman's ruse, and the wiles of women are great.

So when the governor saw his shirt torn from behind, he said, “Indeed this is a deception of women; undoubtedly the deception of women is very great.”

So when he saw that his shirt was torn from behind, he said, ‘This is [a case] of you women’s guile! Your guile is indeed great!

So when he (her husband) saw that his shirt was torn from the back, he (turned to his wife and) said: "This is from the guile of you women; for sure your guile is great."

So when he (- her husband) saw his shirt torn from behind, he (at once understood the truth of the matter and) said (to his wife), `This is surely a (deceiving) device which you women practise. Your (cunning) device is indeed great.´

So when he saw his shirt/dress (was) ripped/cut from (the) back/end, he said: "That it is from your (F) plotting/conspiring that your (F) plotting/conspiring (is) great."

So when the governor saw his shirt torn from behind, he said, "Indeed this is a deception of women; undoubtedly the deception of women is very great."

"But if his shirt be rent from behind, then she lies and he is of the truthful."

So when he (her husband) saw his [(Yusuf's (Joseph)] shirt torn at the back; (her husband) said: "Surely, it is a plot of you women! Certainly mighty is your plot!

And if his shirt is rent behind, she tells a lie and he is of the truthful.

So when he saw his shirt rent from behind, he said: Surely it is a guile of you women; surely your guile is great:

So when he saw his shirt torn from behind, he said: Lo! this is of the guile of you women. Lo! the guile of you is very great.

When the master saw that Joseph's shirt was torn from behind, he told his wife, "This is some of your womanly guile in which you are certainly skillful.

And when he saw his shirt torn at the back, he said: 'This is one of your (women's) guiles. Your guile, (O woman), is great indeed!

So when he (her husband) saw his [Yusuf`s] shirt torn at the back, he (her husband) said: "Surely, it is a plot of you women! Certainly mighty is your plot!"

So when he saw his shirt torn from behind [her husband] said, "This is the guile of you women. Your guile is great indeed.

And when he saw that his shirt was torn from the back, he said, “This is a woman's scheme. Your scheming is serious indeed.”

So when he, her husband, saw that his shirt was torn from behind, he said; `Indeed this -- that is, your saying; `What is to be the requital of him who intends ...' to the end [of the verse, Q. 12;25] -- is of the guile of you, O, women. Verily your guile is great.

فَلَمَّا رَأَى قَمِيصَهُ قُدَّ مِن دُبُرٍ

So when he saw his (Yusuf's) shirt torn at the back,

indicates that when her husband became certain that Yusuf was telling the truth and that his wife was lying when she heralded the accusation of betrayal at Yusuf,

قَالَ إِنَّهُ مِن كَيْدِكُنَّ

he said;"Surely, it is a plot of you women!..."

He said, `This false accusation and staining the young man's reputation is but a plot of many that you, women, have,'

إِنَّ كَيْدَكُنَّ عَظِيمٌ



Certainly mighty is your plot!

The Aziz ordered Yusuf, peace be upon him, to be discrete about what happened
