وَلَوْلَآ اِذْ سَمِعْتُمُوْهُ قُلْتُمْ مَّا يَكُوْنُ لَنَآ اَنْ نَّتَكَلَّمَ بِهٰذَاۖ سُبْحٰنَكَ هٰذَا بُهْتَانٌ عَظِيْمٌ ( النور: ١٦ )
And why not
وَلَوْلَآ
Und wenn doch nur,
when
إِذْ
als
you heard it
سَمِعْتُمُوهُ
ihre es hörtet,
you said
قُلْتُم
gesagt hättet;
"Not
مَّا
"Nicht
it is
يَكُونُ
steht es zu
for us
لَنَآ
für uns,
that
أَن
dass
we speak
نَّتَكَلَّمَ
wir sprechen
of this
بِهَٰذَا
über dieses.
Glory be to You!
سُبْحَٰنَكَ
Preis sei dir.
This
هَٰذَا
Dies
(is) a slander
بُهْتَٰنٌ
(ist) eine Verleumdung!"
great?"
عَظِيمٌ
gewaltige
Wa Lawlā 'Idh Sami`tumūhu Qultum Mā Yakūnu Lanā 'An Natakallama Bihadhā Subĥānaka Hādhā Buhtānun `Ažīmun. (an-Nūr 24:16)

Und hättet ihr doch, als ihr es hörtet, gesagt; "Es steht uns nicht zu, darüber zu sprechen. Preis sei Dir! Das ist eine gewaltige Verleumdung"! ([24] an-Nur (Das Licht) : 16)
English Sahih:
And why, when you heard it, did you not say, "It is not for us to speak of this. Exalted are You, [O Allah]; this is a great slander"? ([24] An-Nur : 16)
