وَلَمَّا جَاۤءَهُمْ رَسُوْلٌ مِّنْ عِنْدِ اللّٰهِ مُصَدِّقٌ لِّمَا مَعَهُمْ نَبَذَ فَرِيْقٌ مِّنَ الَّذِيْنَ اُوْتُوا الْكِتٰبَۙ كِتٰبَ اللّٰهِ وَرَاۤءَ ظُهُوْرِهِمْ كَاَنَّهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُوْنَۖ ( البقرة: ١٠١ )
Wa Lammā Jā'ahum Rasūlun Min `Indi Allāhi Muşaddiqun Limā Ma`ahum Nabadha Farīqun Mina Al-Ladhīna 'Ūtū Al-Kitāba Kitāba Allāhi Warā'a Žuhūrihim Ka'annahum Lā Ya`lamūna. (al-Baq̈arah 2:101)
A. S. F. Bubenheim and N. Elyas:
Und als (nun) zu ihnen ein Gesandter von Allah gekommen ist, das bestätigend, was ihnen (an Offenbarungen) bereits vorlag, da hat eine Gruppe von denjenigen, denen die Schrift gegeben wurde, das Buch Allahs hinter ihren Rücken geworfen, als ob sie nicht Bescheid wüßten. ([2] al-Baqara (Die Kuh) : 101)
English Sahih:
And when a messenger from Allah came to them confirming that which was with them, a party of those who had been given the Scripture threw the Scripture of Allah [i.e., the Torah] behind their backs as if they did not know [what it contained]. ([2] Al-Baqarah : 101)
